Milk 'N' Cookies with its cheery power pop never had chance against flavor of the week garbage such as "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. Of course neither did the Ramones. Jun 03, · Milk 'N' Cookies formed in the early s in Woodmere, Long Island, a short drive from the bustling proto-punk scene in New York City. Their output, collected on this Captured Tracks anthology, was a precursor to U.S. power pop, and they helped create the "tough glam" aesthetic that continued to rear it's sequined head from the New Romantics to hair metal to Britpop and beyond/5(4).

But hey, I really liked this album and am glad I got it. As the other reviewer notes, Milk "N' Cookies were indeed doing the punk/power pop thing a few years before the Ramones (the original album was released in , but some of these demos were recorded back in )/5(5).
